Ashburnham Soldiers' Monument (South Ashburnham, Massachusetts)

The Soldiers' Monument, sculpted by Theo Alice Ruggles Kitson and based on her monument in Newburyport, is a 14 foot statue of a Union soldier marching with his rifle over his right shoulder, and his left hand resting on his waist, which stands atop a square granite base adorned with a bronze star. It is situated directly in front of Jacob H. Fairbanks Memorial, which was dedicated on the same day. It was paid for by Melvin Ohio Adams through funds received from the sale of his Winchester estate to the Town of Ashburnham.
