Civil War Navy Dahlgren Cannon (Denver, Colorado)

A 41-inch, iron, 11-inch US Navy Dahlgren cannon. Markings on the breech of the cannon identify it as "C.A. & Co.", "No. 215" with a weight of 15,750 lbs. A plaque in the cement sidewalk below the back of the cannon describes it as a "Civil War Artillery 11-inch Navy Dahlgren." The cannon mouth points SSE and pivots on a trunnion marked "1862".
