""On fame's eternal camping ground Their silent tents are spread And glory guards with solemn round The bivouac of the dead"" [Honor Roll of Soldiers] The gift of the late Captain and Mrs. Don Carlos Newton who in their bequest appointed Charles Husted More - Albro Bishop Prindle Elbert Henry Wolcott and charged them with the erection of this memorial"
