Erected to the Memory of the gallant soldiers of Northumberland County who fell in the battles of the Great Rebellion Corner stone laid May 30, 1874 Erected July 4, 1879 James Cameron of Northumberland Co. Col. of the 79th N.Y. Cameronian Vols fell at the head of his Regt. at the Battle of Bull Run July 21, 1861 Aged 61 years.
